That's a good site Gilly - there are 21 different colours listed down the side. Seems it would be difficult to classify some cockers in real life though, as colours such as red roan/red and white and lemon roan/lemon and white are just variations of orange roan and orange and white, especially since the colour of the 'orange' often changes during puppy to adulthood?

Have to say, the liver roan and tans, which I'd never heard of before, pictured are simply stunning! :D

There were one or two unusual colours on the sable site, but aren't a lot of them black and tans and gold?

Some of them look like black and tans but they do have a different hair layer. Some of them has a red undercoat with a black topcoat and some of them has a coat where one hair that has 2 colours.  Most of them has tanmarkings. Its a bit difficult to see the red sables on pics but usually you can tell that the dog is sable when you see them IRL.

If you see a wet sable cocker the black topcoat will look like black stripes on the red coat.  Actually they look like little tigers.

It is possible to see sable cockers who doesn't have correct coats, they look more like red/black roans.

A lemon is a very pale washed out version of orange, generally with brown pigmentation (brown noses etc) - more like the colour of a pale Clumber Spaniel. Some photos of "lemons" I've seen on the internet would be registered as orange in the UK so they are not necessarily lemon in the true sense  You are more likely to find lemons in working lines rather than the usual show/pet lines.

Tia is a red/golden cocker (sort of running to blond) she's beautiful.

A few months ago down villiers st in london near embankment tube i saw two solid liver (chocolate) coloured cockers they looked fantastic.

Has anyone seen the English Cocker Spaniel World Website?

Are red and golden the same thing? I always thought so but I've seen both colours on some sites under different headings  :?
Toby is a chestnut colour but I've seen some very blonde golden's, is it just variations on the same colour or is it classed seperately?
