Site Problems ?

It's during the evenings I can't get on - generally between 9 and 12. It happened again last night, I tried intermittently from about 10 but didn't get on until midnight.

My ISP is Tiscali, is anyone else using them having this problem ?

I have Tiscali Colin, and the site seems to be running fine for me

So it's not Tiscali fault then.

I'm not having problmes with any other site I use on a daily basis, just this one.

As I have said, I've not experienced any problems   I'm with Freeserve.

I know on another site that I post on run by invision power board there are a few having problems posting on there too, so maybe it's a problem at that end

i've been having problems all afternoon from my pc but could acces as a visitor from a collegues machine!!!!

i was having problems the other day - with 'page not available' everytime i tried to view the site!!!
 

I had that too! But at the moment it's working fine, fingers crossed!

Also had problems over the past couple of weeks, thought it was something I was doing wrong being new !

I know on another site that I post on run by invision power board there are a few having problems posting on there too, so maybe it's a problem at that end  

COL isnt run by Invision Power Board, we simply use software provided by Invision Services. It is independant of Invision servers.

As far as we know there have been no outages lately and logs show no problems this end at the moment. We will however keep an eye on this situation as you never know! Gremlins in the works are a definate maybe!

If i access the site by bypassing the proxy server (in which case COL can auto log me in) then i am periodically getting problems.

If i access the site via the Proxy server (in which case i have to manually log myself in) then i don't get a connection problem at all.

So is there something wrong with however COL recognises us to log us in?

Well it seems my problems were caused by my ISP after all - I couldn't connect to the internet at all this morning so rang Tiscali. They said they were getting a lot of complaints from the London area and were doing their best to fix the problem. I'm on now, so it looks like they have.

There may be issues with PHP session ID's and proxy servers. I'll look into it.

Also if anyone uses AOL (and in particular their own browser software) they may encounter logging in and page not displayed errors.

Corrupt cookies may also cause problems sometimes, in IE especially, solution is to clear out IE's cache and delete any cookies (or just the COL ones if you're relying on other cookies to log you into other sites.)

It could be any number of things really
