Murphy has been ill for over a year now, in August 2004 he developed a swelling above his left eye which the vet thought was a soft tissue injury and operated on him to drain the swelling, but the swelling came back and he became very head shy, so I took him back to the vets and they decided to X ray his head, when they did they found out that something had eaten thru the bone and it was full of pus.It was a choice of 3 things, a tumour, viral infection or fungal. The blood sample came back as not fungal, the biopsy came back as not a tumour (but not certain) so we attacked it with various anti-biotics for about 3 months. They didn't work so it was decided to keep him pain free for as long as possible with Noracarp As I said that was approx. 1 year ago.Last week his face swelled up under and around his eye, to an enormous size within the space of about 4 hours, I took him to the vets that night and she said it was the beginning of the end, although she did give more antibiotics, but didnt hold out much hope for him.I steeled myself to the fact that I was going to have him PTS last Thurday, but the swelling has gone down considerable, his eye is open, he is eating, exercising, and seems quite happy fingers crossed.
Sorry this is so long. Will post a picture of them both if I can.
