:D Oh cool 8)   I shall back that one too  :D

Ohh how exciting would it be for a cocker to get the overall champion 8)  I haven't really a clue how Crufts works, is this possible?

Colin,

It may not be a COL dog...but it could quite easily be a COL dogs DAD! Heehee!

I agree! I think it maybe Sh.Ch.Quettadene Copper Glow! (my boys dad!)

But still - we shall meet at the great NW meet part 2 ... when's that happening again ???  *goes to check the General discussion page :) *

as an aside ...

I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

(sorry Emma! :( ) and Tris is sad, because he is stopping at home to look after Jenni Wren   strange really, he's never been 'into' showing until recently he said he wanted to start coming to shows with me... perhaps he'll catch the bug and show Jenni :D

Managed to have another sneak before leaving for Southampton this PM.

I would like to see a Blue Roan win as well Sh Ch Bitcon Pickpocket, Sh Ch Penmarten Artful Antics or Bitcon Time Traveller.  Of course there is only one winner in the Bitch class and that's RUBY    Wouldn't it be lovely to see an Orange win BOB.

See you all tomorrow morning bright eyed and bushy tailed !!!

I wouldn't hold out any hopes for an orange winner  I'd hazard a small bet that a solid will win the DCC - not sure about the bitches though

I think it would actually be a really bad thing if a Cocker ended up Best in Show - the breed is already popular enough in my book with too many irresponsible people churning out puppies to meet the demand :( It always happens - whichever dog wins Crufts is flavour of the month for a while with the impulse puppy buyers (though it probably didn't apply last year with the winner being such a specialised breed )

I remember when Chris Amoo ( from the Real Thing) won with his Afghan in the 80's, suddenly Afghans were everywhere as a result of all the publicity. Beautiful dogs, but not for the inexperienced owner really.

P.S. traffic leaving Crufts was bad tonight. Don't know what it was like for people getting there.

Good luck to all showers

The local radio stations were reporting traffic chaos on all the local motorways M42, M40 and M6 from 8.00 until 13.00 today.  It was no better this evening either.  One station reported the Police asked locals not to abandon their cars on minor surrounding roads as this was adding to the traffic problems.  It appears local residents gave up waiting in queues, opting to leave their vehicles to return and collect them later this evening. Probably a good idea to allow extra time for your journeys, especially anyone travelling southbound on the M42 as there are additional roadworks between junction 11 and 10 for bridge repairs.
Charlie-Spud 'ere, oh and this little fella Frisbee!

:( As I can't make it today, I wanted to take the children to crufts over the weekend :)   Can anyone tell me what dogs it is on Saturday and Sunday, and also if they have the agility on over the weekend :?:

I know its not the same as being with the cockers, but its better than missing out alltogether :?   Will Sunday be pre-booked tickets only?

Thanks

I'm going up tomorrow Emma so I can have a wander around the trade stands  It's Working & Pastoral on Saturday & Terriers on Sunday. Both days will be very busy so best to get there early before the crowds get too much. On Sunday, it's pre-booked tickets only to access the Best in Show ring but not for general admittance so you would have no problems getting in. There will be some agility on Saturday not sure about Sunday but if you look at the KC site, you'll find a full programme of what's on where on each day :)
