  Yes, it does get easier.  The more work you put in now, the easier it will get faster imo.

We've now had Herbie for 3 weeks and as I type this he's asleep under my desk, head on my feet :)

I think the hardest bit is the first 2 weeks as you start to see how non puppy proof your house is, as you battle to clean up wees and poops before fresh ones appear lol etc.

What did you decide to call your puppy in the end?  Is she a show type or a working type?

Oh dear  :(

I went into "puppyhood" expecting the worst - and I am not going to pretend that I found it easy; cos I didn't  <_<  I persevered because I knew, having had adult dogs before, how much he would bring to our lives once he was mature; and now he is 16 months old, he is a joy to have around  :)

In some ways I 'wished Molo's puppyhood away' - I looked forward to getting it over with; and committed time and energy into his socialisation and training so that he became a valued member of the family - and he is!

Stick with it; it gets loads easier as the months go by and you suddenly realise that your not constantly yelping in pain from puppy bites, giving time outs, and telling him NO! We have suddenly realised that we don't have to shut him in his crate at mealtimes anymore - something I thought I'd be doing FOREVER    Each week gets a little bit easier; its not something that you notice overnight, but like having a new born baby, the spaces between the low points gets longer every day  ;)

Don't feel bad if you find the puppy stage hard work though and are looking forward to it being over - I am sure we're not the only ones

YOU R NOT ALONE!!!!!
We bought CODY our black american cocker spaniel home 3 days ago. We were so thrilled with her - she is 5mths. The next morning after hardly any sleep and waking up to a conseravatory of wee & diorreah we spent all day thinking what have we done i could of cried! I wasnt sure if i wanted her anymore. I kept looking at her thinking would i really be upset if someone else took you. But after last night when she slept all thru without a wimper i was excited to see her. Cody has an upset tummy so i am cleaning poop ten fold - i know it will only get better. I only joined the club yesterday and the support you get from others is great!!!
Hang on in there! Let me know how your getting on.

Lisa & Cody. :)

Hi

Thanks for all your thoughts, I have to say we've had her just over a week now, and she is already improving, she still has a few accidents now and again but nothing major.  She sleeps all night and never messes in her cage which is brilliant.  She has such a lovely temperant and we call her dizzy, and she is sooo stupid, she bumps into things all the time and dosn't care, she runs around the garden with her ears flapping and she looks like Dumbo.

Can't imagine what it was like without her, it feels like we've had her ages
All I can say to people with new puppies is that from my expereince it does get a lot easier and I'm saying that only after a week

Bye for now
