Do dogs shiver because their excited or it generally down to anxiety and stress

mine does in sheer excitement when we're going on walks he loves and he knows where we're going and just before a shoot    (he calms down when he's there!)

Miya needs to be spayed early next year (but she doesn't know yet) so that can't be why she's shivering
I guess I'll just put it down to excitement as her eating and toilet duties appear normal

Only noticed in the morning, perhaps it's excitement in anticipation of her exercise
