Vet gave us Drontal worming tablet instead of Milbemax

And Finn was as sick as a dog ( pardon the pun).
my poor boy threw up 3 times last night, Knew something was amiss when he wouldn't settle for bed 7 wimpering ( not like Finn at all. and his stools were soo loose he made himself bleed by wiping his bum on the cold pavement.

he let me put a cold compress to his bum which stopped the bleeding.

we finnally got to bed at 2.30 this morning.

If i'd known it would have affected him the way it did i wouldn't have given him.
Hubby going to vets tonight for milbemax.

Finn was back to his normal self this morning

Poor little Finn - they look so pathetic when they are being sick - and when we know that it is because of something we gave them it makes it even harder 

When I was last at the vets (or rather, the dogs were there for their annual check-up  )  I asked for some more Milbemax, preferably the large ultra palatable ones, and was told that there had been a production problem with them, so maybe your vet did not have any Milbemax?  Not sure if this is a problem encountered by anyone else 

I hope Finn feels better soon

Poor FInn

Poor little Finn - they look so pathetic when they are being sick - and when we know that it is because of something we gave them it makes it even harder 

When I was last at the vets (or rather, the dogs were there for their annual check-up  )  I asked for some more Milbemax, preferably the large ultra palatable ones, and was told that there had been a production problem with them, so maybe your vet did not have any Milbemax?  Not sure if this is a problem encountered by anyone else

it here but I still haven't given it yet,
we are off to the Vet Thursday(AGAIN!)
so i might ask about it then

Ruby (now 2) had Panacur to start with, then Drontal with no ill effects. Last week at her annual health check we were given Cazitel Plus.  No ill effects from that either, so I can't answer your question (sorry) 

Just hope that Finn is better  and if you are concerned, I would speak to your vet.

never heard of it before now.

I hadn't heard of it either Steff.  I'm sure if you look far enough on tinterweb you will find dogs that have had side effects. Thankfully, Ruby has been fine

Hope Finn is feeling better now 
I can't give Georgia Drontal because it makes her sick too  she is fine with Milbemax though 
My other 3 cockers have had Drontal with no side effects.

William throws up if he's had Drontal and one of my earlier Cockers used to as well.

I'm due to visit my vet to get Milbemax.  I hope there isn't a problem as Molly can't stomach Drontal either.  She's never actually been sick but she's very unsettled, won't sleep & cries for approx 12 hours afterwards so I won't give her it again.  This has happened on 2 occasions as I forget about the first incident & gave her it come next worming time.  I won't forget again after having to sit up half the night with her!

I'm due to visit my vet to get Milbemax.  I hope there isn't a problem as Molly can't stomach Drontal either. 

To make it a bit clearer, it was the large chewable Milbemax that my vet couldn't source from the manufacturer - he was able to dispense the more conventional tablet form - which was a huge relief because like others above, my old cocker used to vomit after Drontal so I have steered clear of that ever since - I just had to hide the less palatable form in food in case they got wind of it
