Today, I have had Jamie for just a week, and he is an absolute delight. I think this is partly due to Henry who has been Jamie's role model. Henry was very diffident at first, and I was concerned that he was not having his nose pushed out by a new puppy. In the last few days Henry has accepted his little brother more and more, and Jamie follows Henry everywhere. The two of them have just stopped having a mad half hour and Jamie is fast asleep under my desk. Henry is asleep by the window.
Jamie has a lovely nature and loves to be cuddled. When watching TV in the evening he will jump up at me, and I have to lift him up so that he can sleep on my lap. He has quickly learnt his name and comes running when I call it. It's funny to see this little mite running from the bottom of the garden when I call him. His toilet training is coming on and he will go in the garden, when I put him out, and then come running back to the door when he has finished. He doesn't bite anything like Henry did, when he was a puppy, and I haven't got one bite mark on my hands from him. Henry was a terror for this, and my hands were like plates of meat. He wasn't nasty but liked to mouth; he still does to a certain extent, but it is gentle now.
Jamie sleeps on the bed with me and is no trouble, apart from wanting to go out any time from about four o'clock onwards. After he's been for a wee he will settle down again, but, he won't let me have a lie in. He starts his puppy classes on 20th January and it will be interesting to see how he compares with Henry when he was there.
