Terrified!
« on: April 04, 2014, 08:11:09 AM »
Hudson is going out with a dog walker for the first time today... a friend of ours who recently lost his job so is setting up a dog walking business, which worked out nicely for us! He has plenty of experience with dogs and Hudson has met him several times when we've been out walking with him and his dogs.  Today is the first time they're going out without us though, he's taking Hudson out one on one today to practise recall, in prep for a longer day tomorrow. I am literally beside myself!!! What if he loses him!??

(OH says I'm overreacting, and I don't even really trust *him* to walk Hudson either...  :005:)

Just had to get that off my chest!

Your friend sounds like the ideal person to be Hudson's dog walker. They already know each other and it's good that he's taking Hudson out alone today to get to know him even better.

I know how you feel though. My best friend Maria was my dog sitter and walker when I was still walking part time and I used to have moments of feeling anxious and over protective, even though Maria has always been brilliant with my dogs and they adore her. 10 years later and Maria is still my best friend, dog sitter and they live with her when I go on holiday :D

I think I would feel the same too, however well I know who is taking them.

Think the first couple of times you will worry, but after that your confidence will grow.

Thanks all. I'm just worried because he's never been anywhere without me or my OH before. I worry if he wanders off it'll be us he's looking for and not Adam, and he'll bolt or something!  Also.... he might start liking Adam better than us... :005: ph34r

Completely understand your worries, but I'm sure Hudson is a clever boy, he'll be fine  ;)
Not like us humans who come out of a shop and can't remember where we parked the car...

Well, pleased to report HB is home safe and sound and with a glowing report from Adam. He can be quite good and clever when it suits him  ;) :luv:
