Poor Little Louis has Rudder Tail

I have just returned from the vets - Louis had a severe case of 'tail flop' this morning and after our walk hasn't been able to get himself really comfy and started trembling so it was a quick call to the vet and he was seen within 5 mins, the diagnosis was made and we were home all within 10mins of my original call - and with a cuddle from the vet included.
Poor little man - anti-inflammatories for 3-5 days. We did get horrifically wet on the walk yesterday afternoon so I am guessing that's what set it all off.
For those who have not met the condition before, this is a definition I found on t'internet:
frozen tail, limber tail, rudder tail, cold water taila painful condition of the tailbase recognized in gundogs, mainly Labrador retrievers. Usually seen the day after hunting, and believed to be a tendonitis or myositis associated with vigorous swimming or hyperextension of the tail when leaping into water. The affected dog holds the tail horizontally, away from the rump, and is reluctant to sit.
