Our breeder had Rhodri microchipped before we had him but gave all our details so we didn't have to change over. The day he was chipped, we had an e-mail from Petlog confirming all the details.

Did you buy Rhodri before 6th April, maybe breeders were allowed to carry on as normal before that date?

Yes we did, so I suppose they could still do it then.

Just thought it would be worth posting a word of warning for using mobile microchipping services, after seeing an advert for this. Unless you know the person, do not allow anyone who offers this service to come to your home and carry out this. It is the perfect opportunity to get your address, dogs name, etc and, pass this info onto a third party if necessary!! Instead, use your local vets, so you know your dog will be safe.

Timely warning, thank you. There are so many rogues about that you really have to be on your guard. excerpt from Gov.UK website:Who can microchip your dog
Your dog’s microchip must be fitted by a trained professional, eg a vet.

I'm licensed to microchip but was trained by a vet to do so, so one of the better courses- some courses don't use vets.

I believe soon all microchippers need to take a new course to relicense
