We had journeys home of not much shorter than yours. OH drove and I sat in the back seat so as to not distract him. This meant I got all the cuddles  :luv:  I had a couple of towels on my lap but there weren't any puddles anyway.

Morgan got very restless on the way home so I was glad we'd taken a cat carrier with us to pop him into and he went straight to sleep. Hugo was very happy being cuddled all the way, kissed my fingers over and over and fell asleep on my lap so the cat basket wasn't needed that time.

What is the longest distance people have taken their puppy?

A friend has just lost her dog quite suddenly and would like to get another, now is a good time as it's the school holidays (she has kids and takes quite a bit of time off anyway) so plenty of time and people to be with the pup.  However she's in the Highlands and the only place she has found with beardie pups available any time soon is in Wales which would mean around a 9 hour drive home.  Our first cocker has a three or so hour trip to get home and Alfie was longer, possibly over four hours and both were absolutely fine.  In fact Alfie was so quiet and settled we were worried he was unwell but seemed quite happy when he woke up.

Right now my friend isn't considering anywhere outside Scotland due to the distance carrying the pup but was curious to see what other people's experiences were.

When I picked Toby up in May it was a 191mile trip, making it a 382 round trip

When we brought Milo home it was about an hour, and he was on my lap, and he struggled and screamed all the way home, it was quite traumatic. So,when we went for Dylan we took a crate and even considered sedation, we were quite apprehensive. However Dylan sat on my lap,all the way home, about three hours, and was good as gold. We put him down in the garden and he walked about happy as larry and was at home from the start, it was a lovely experience  :luv:

Enjoy the journey home with all the joy and anticipation it means  :D
