Pics Too Big!
« on: January 01, 2006, 04:51:58 PM »
Hi there
I need a little help, Im new to the forum and I've figured out how to use photobucket and use a link to add a pic.  The problem is the picture was huge and your administrators changed it to a link for me.  How do I make it small enough to use as a pic instead of a link?

In photobucket click on the edit button of the picture you want to post then click on resize. The only thing to remember is that once its resized you cant change it back so make sure its not the only copy of an important photo you have

Morticia, whenever you do something with tags in a post you have to remember to close the tags afterwards to make it show in posts

So if you wanted to change to red for example you pick your colour, type your message then click close all tags

To post the picture you have resized, click and copy the url thats underneath your picture in photobucket thats labeled img, then paste it to your post

Hope that helps :)

This was happening to me...... and I just kept trying and then managed to reduce them.
It said they were 11k......but now they are too small. I know once reduced you cant get them big again but what I need to know is what is the best size for posting

Sorry I cant help... but at least you are not the only one who cant seem to get this right :P

The best way to resize your pic's is using your own package not photobucket. Then upload the image to photobucket. PB limits the file soze to 512kb which wills till produce a massive piscture. Using then their esize function tends to make them minute, so it's better if you can learn ho to do it yourslef using your own software :D

The optimum size is the largest side to be no more than 500 pixels at a resolution of 72. That displays really well on a PC screen.

In your graphics package use the "help" function to find out how to resize. The instructions should be pretty straightforward - but sadly not all packages are the same :(
