Pringle's being speyed.
« on: January 23, 2007, 01:46:35 PM »
Poor little Pringle is off the vets tomorrow to be speyed.  I feel really sorry for her.  From what I can remember our previous 2 cockers recovered fairly quickly but it is still going to be horrible for her.  I was worrying a bit about putting her in the car when I collect her, but I think what I'll do is take her bed so she can just walk into that and then I can lift her and the bed into the car.  I don't want to hurt her tummy.  She has also got to have her microchip removed at the same time.  It has slipped and is now under her left arm pit.  Poor little thing, she is going to be so sore tomorrow night.

Awww poor Pringle. I'm sure she'll be fine, they do bounce back very quickly. Try not to worry too much. Lifting her up into the car on her bed is a good idea.

I'll be thinking of you both tomorrow.  :-*

Good way to lift them is to scoop them (bascially back legs and front --- just scoop your arms round them)

I hope Pringle lets you lift her in to the car. Fern didn't give me a chance, she was so glad to be going home she just leapt in as soon as I opened the door!

Hope it all goes well today.  If Pringle is anything like Coco you won't even know she has had an operation by tomorrow  ;)

Have just dropped her off.  She was absolutely fine.  The Vet nurse who is assisting is the one who used to run puppy playgroup that Pringle attended so she knows exactly what she is like  :005:  When we got there there was another spaniel being booked in (they are doing 3 spaniels today!)  Poor little thing looked absolutely terrified unlike Pringle, who flew through the door and proceeded to attempt to launch herself at everyone.  She went off very happily with Lyndsay (any human will do  ::)), unlike the other poor little Spaniel who had to be dragged away with its tail between its legs.  Lyndsay was saying that Pringle's brother who was at puppy playgroup with her had been really ill.  He had eaten a poisoned mouse and had been very poorly indeed, but was much better now.

At the weekend we had bought Pringle a new harness which had an attachment so you could use it like a car harness as well.  When I got to the vets I discovered she had chewed right through it and released herself, so something else for the bin ::)  She is such a brat.

Yay, Pringle's ready to be collected.  She is absolutely fine and has been extremely well behaved and lovely.  So me and my credit card  ::) are just off to collect her.

Pringle is home and doing very well.  The vets were very impressed with how well behaved she was and said she was absolutely lovely and no trouble.  When we got home I put her out to do a wee, but all she did was stand there shaking so I brought her straight back in (after she had managed to bark at a dog passing our front garden though!!).

She has been very sleepy.  OH came home from work early and I left him in the lounge to supervise whilst I got tea ready.  I was going in to tell him tea was ready when I noticed Pringle was up and wobbling across the floor through the lounge door.  I shot in there to find OH fast asleep on the settee  ::) and Pringle in the process of trying to jump on top of him.  Men, honestly, so much for supervision.

Anyway she has now had some scrambled egg for her tea and has now settled back down for another snooze.
