Lump/spots?
« on: November 19, 2007, 06:41:41 PM »
For a few weeks now Georgie has had a sort of very small lump, more like a solid spot on her back. It does'nt move, its just solid.   I have kept an eye on it and it has'nt changed but has'nt gone away  :'(  I have now noticed another one on the other side, just the same.

Anyone had anything like this and know what it might be?

Lumps such as this seem to be fairly common on older spaniels.

My last Cocker had a number of them that were removed when he was about eight or so.  Charley had one removed early this year.  I had this done at the same time as his haematoma.  Charley will be ten in January.

Ah Su, poorly girl.  Could be a sebacious (sp) cyst?  Have you asked our illustrious leader and font of all knowledge?   :005:

Hopefully it will be something and nothing but it would be best to get them checked out.

Domino has a similar lump about a third of the way down his tail, Sue; it sounds like Georgie's.

I've had it checked several times by the vet who has assured me that it's a cyst & in fact his dog has an identical one!! :D

It might be worth having a word with your vet about them if only to put your mind at rest. ;)

I had a dog here who had similar sounding wee lumps, they turned out to be little cysts. Id make an appointment at the vets just to have them checked  ;)

Aww sorry to hear this Sue.

Scoobie had one of these on him and we didn't know, the vet didn't know what it was either so removed it just to check that it was nothing to worry about and it wasn't it was just a fatty lump.

Let us know how you get on at the vets and give her a gentle hug from us :luv:
