Ohhh can't wait to see who has won their categories, all the entries have been great, not to mention the fund raising.

I've loved looking at all those photos, glad I don't have to choose a winner as they all are  :luv:

You lot are so impatient  :lol2:

I can wait as long as it takes because I know for an absolute fact Billy won't come anywhere near 1st 2nd or 3rd. Too many people with fancy cameras in this competition for us to even stand a tiny chance !

Jan, your pics of Billy are gorgeous. he's very handsome and don't see why he doesn't stand as good a chance as any other  :luv:

and with fancy editing software !!!!

But it's not a photography competition and its the dog and what it is doing that counts not the technical aspects of the picture  ;)

Sometimes the best photos are the ones that are taken on a little basic camera then uploaded and entered as they were taken without any fancy editing.  Which is a good job cos thats all i knew how to do  :005: and then it was a trauma  :005:

Exactly, a fancy camera or software doesn't make a good photographer and you could have the most technically perfect photo and it still won't win as that's not what's being judged here. I keep logging on to see if the results are in yet as well, looking forward to seeing them  :D

Yup agree - and fwiw I have fancy editing software and frankly I can't be ar$ed using it  :D  I think if the photo needs loads of photoshopping it's not a good photo anyway - silk purse sows ear and all that  ;)

this is about the dogs not techy photography and Jan I think Billy looks soooo handsome in his picture :luv: :luv:

I agree too! I have editing software and everytime I try to use it the photo turns out worse than the original so it just ends up being a waste of time  >:(

I know that's not whats being judged, but you can't deny that a nice quality clear close up photo has much more of a chance of winning.  These kinds of pictures are much easier to achieve with a more decent camera.

Am not critising, far from it, good luck to everyone it's a fabulous competition !  My fave is caught in the act, I just love it  :lol2:

My problem is getting him to sit still long enough to take a decent picture. He's so much cuter in the fur than on film, definately. Pictures don't portay character too well when the character has ants in his furry little pants  >:(

i didn't enter barkers coz i'm not really into competitions but i've really enjoyed looking at everyone's pics- they are all so scrummy.  :luv:

jan, i know what you mean- there is a wow factor when a photo looks like it could be in a gallery but all of the dogs definitely shine through in their pics regardless. :)

Heh heh I think a good camera does make a difference (she says green with envy.. I will have one ONE DAY!!!)

Norms is very easy to photo - she's a decent size and her coat reflects the light well to show her gorgeous muscles and movement - you can see how athletic she is and how much presence she has very easily - good camera or not. But Dave just isn't photogenic I haven't taken a single pic of him that I think sums up how lovely he is and what he's about. He's not a very 'in your face dog' and his colouring doesn't seem to help either as it just absorbs the light and doesn't show any real definition  :005: I need to find someone with a good camera to see if that's the way to get 'Dave' in print pixals  :005: :005:
