I have suggested I would like a proper grooming dryer for the dogs as I've burnt out my hairdryer with all the dust and time to dry three dogs!  Birthday coming  ;)

It has to be a budget model but I like the sound of the attachments on some for the cage so I can bring back wet dogs, stick them in a cage and dry them quickly, brush them off and reduce the wet dirt all over the lounge!

Bought cheap in the past and regretted it so if that's the case maybe I have to wait till finances better  ;)

Jenny, I've got this one http://www.oakenshaw.com/Allbrooks/Products/BiggerImages/Powerpac.htm and I paid a small fortune for it years ago, so I would suggest making your bids. :shades:
I should point out that these are powerful and send hair/dust/wet everywhere (I can only use mine outside) so as long as you've got a dog/utility room (which I haven't) you'll be onto a winner.

the first one looks ok but if you are thinking of getting the second one you wont be able to use it without a power transformer as it is for american voltage (110v) not uk voltage (240v)

Half the garage is converted to the doggy area now (good job we have a double garage  ;) So dust not too much a problem.  Not sure OH will treat me to such an expensive present though  :-\

Have visions of having to keep the doors firmly closed or dogs and the cat will be blown away and there could be reports of extreme winds in parts of North Worcestershire  :005:

hi - we got a challengair from Petcetera - it is very powerful but a bit noisy - they aren't cheap but it has cut drying time down significantly - the hair dryer was taking at least 2 hours cos the legs were taking ages to dry  ::)  Some of the ones which others have put links to look fabulous though!  :lol2:  Hope you manage to get one you like  ;)

are dog dryers quieter than human ones? Mali runs a mile as soon as I get mine out to do my hair so I'm not sure she would allow me to use on on her

Hi Ginny B - Some of them are really noisy so it would be worth checking with the supplier - ours is very noisy but luckily the Daxlet  :luv: is very chilled about being groomed - he usually nods off but not when the blaster is going  :005:

Not as yet - hoping that OH will order me one for my birthday and not been given a spending limit - think he was thinking £30  :shades:  Really really wanted it for NOW  >:( Good job Heidi hasn't got many feathers as might have to hang her from wash line in the morning - alternatively it's the tumble dryer  ::)

thanks Ludo. I hope she'll be ok on Monday, she is booked in for her first ever grooming session  ph34r
It's a mobile groomer who was recommended by my vet's surgery so I hope they are good. I worry after reading so many horror stories on here. Do you go in the van with them or just wait to be presented with the finished article? I've told him I don't want her clipped and he said she was too young for that anyhow ???
