How many pm's can I keep?

I'm not sure if my in box is full, would it tell me?
Also what would happen if I pressed the prune button? I want to keep many of them.

I'm not sure how many pms it's possible to keep, perhaps Jane or Stuart will know. It's best to clear your pms now and again though - when I first joined the forum I never deleted any and eventually it got so clogged up I couldn't access my pm box at all. I had to give Stuart my password to log in and sort it out for me.

Also what would happen if I pressed the prune button? I want to keep many of them.

If you opt to prune your PMs, you're given the option to delete all PMs older than 14 days old (that's the default) but you can easily change the 14 to 28 or even 365 if you wanted to just get rid of anything older than a year old. It makes sense to "prune" on a fairly regular basis as it all helps to keep COL running smoothly. If you have PMs containing info you don't want to lose, it would be a good idea to copy and paste the contents to a file on your own computer, just in case something catastrophic happened to COL and the database was lost.
