I don't know about Bournemouth Hospital, but the scanner van is huge and very impressive looking, much more so than the mobile screening units you see for people!

I'm hoping that William will be done early tomorrow. I got the impression that they got through most of the list today and wonder if William got pushed back down the list because he was being good and quiet, because we're so local and perhaps because he's clinically sound at the moment and I'm sure that some of the dogs being scanned must have been more urgent cases.

I also think that the van must be needed elsewhere this week so I'm sure they will be keen to get through the remaining cases as early as possible tomorrow. So we will be on their doorstep at 8.30am prompt tomorrow.

I hope we don't get put off again as the van won't be back until August.

Dropped William off at 8.30am this morning. The nurse who took him gave him a big hug and said he'd had lots of cuddles yesterday, which made me feel happier.

He's 3rd of 4 to be scanned and they're hoping to have done all of them by about 12.00pm, so hopefully I will get a phone call early this afternoon and will be able to go and collect him soon after.

My cat had his MRI done in same or similar van :005: - the vets I had to take him to have it there every 2 weeks now as there's such a demand (if for some reason they need to rescan him again later ask the vets to see if they can get a discount - my referral vets got 50% off the 2nd one ;))

Good luck for today

He's back home  , a bit wobbly and red eyed and sorry for himself, but basically OK. I was worried that he would be too hot so borrowed a fan, but as soon as I switched it on he took himself off into the garden and is now toasting himself in the sunshine. I'll get him back in very shortly if he doesn't come in of his own accord. He's quite drowsy and I don't want him to nod off and stay out in the sunshine too long.

I won't get the results of the scan until next week, probably Monday or Tuesday, when the vet will phone me. That seems a long time to wait, but at least I've got my boy back safely.

Thank you everyone for all your support  :D

When my cat had his MRI they were concerned he'd get cold - I think sedation etc brings their body temperature down, not sure

All thebest for William and yourself.    My neighbour has an orange rowan also called William.   That's how we came to have two cocker spaniels of our own, used to look after William when they went out and fell in love with the breed, you just can't help it.
