I forgot what 11 month old pups are like
« on: July 05, 2009, 09:05:52 AM »
How foolish of me, I just got Eric through his horrendous teenage phase and I got another teenager  ::)  ::)

Lucy is chewing things like there is no tomorrow. And does anyone remember Eric and my birkenstocks? (for those that don't he pinched them, chewed them up a bit and pee'd all over them) well Lucy had taken a particular shine to this seasons Birkie's and no matter where I leave them it seems everytime I turn around she has one in her mouth  ::) She also loves knickers and has chewed up countless pairs, I keep finding rather frayed pathetic looking bits of material around the house. She has taken to chewing the corners of the walls in the kitchen that we had decorated less than a month ago (which had to be decorated because Eric had chewed it and it had also been decorated just beofre we got Eric as Groove had chewed it too). So I think there is a lesson to learn here, having 3 teenagers in the space of 3 years is not good for your sanity, your purse or your house  :005:

Oh dear, doesn't do your stock of underwear no favours either.  :-\ these birkenstocks of yours must taste pretty good. Sounds like Eric has got her to one side and let her in on his naughty bits - so he will look  when you are telling little  >:D off!!  ;)

Oh Emma C, I am so pleased to hear of your problems with your 11 month old :)  I have an 11 month old 'boy' who has to be crated when I go out the room for more than 5 mins as he destroys something.  We have had dogs for years and currently have two other dogs who keep him company.  He has bags of exercise, good food and is obedient otherwise but his destructive berhaviour is exasperating.  We have never had such a pup in 50 + years....  I think it is separation anxiety personally as he doesnt do it when we are around... hopefully he will grow out of it.  Certainly your boy and my girl shouldnt have babies together  :) >:D

Oh another thought.  My chap is still on puppy kibble Royal Canin and the advice is to keep him on it until at least 12 months when he should have stopped growing.  This mix has a high protein and Oil content - for growth - I wonder if they are maybe ready for less 'fuel'...what about you?

Ooooh the chewing , Belle managed to get hold of one of my bestest/favourite pair of sandals and chew through the toe post within seconds >:D >:D Don't get me wrong these were 5 year old hush Puppies no where near new but they were the comfiest ever, I still wore them back and fore the school as despite being 5 yrs old they still looked pretty good >:( This am she has chewed through a ds lite charger that was plugged in and charging my youngests DS at the time :o :o Thankfully they are both fine and he can share one of my other kids chargers :o Strangely though as i said on another thread she doesn't chew anything in the kitchen, I am sure she sees it as hers and doesn't want to ruin anything in it :lol2:

I think you are right because she has also wee'd on my bed a couple of times and on the sofa which were also two of Eric's favourite naughty things to do. He even pee'd on the sofa once and my SIL sat in it because I didn't see him do it. Oh the shame  ph34r

Reading all your posts are giving me some indications of what I may have to come. My Lucy is only 5 mths old and as yet, fingers crossed, has been very good at not chewing or destroying anything, but reading your posts maybe the worst has yet to come????? :-\

does that work in reverse too? Mali was never really a chewer (though she does run off with knickers and socks in the hope you will chase her) nor has she ever peed anywhere she shouldn't (apart from on the carpet whilst still a baby) so does that mean if I get a new one I can expect her to be an angel too?

I knew that he would pass down his wisdom to her. It is good in one way though because it now makes Eric look like an angel  so i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Only another 9 or so months with Lucy and we should be laughing  :005:  :005: What I can't understand is I have loads of flip flops that were pretty cheap and yet she has to go for my expensive Birkie's  >:D  >:D
