There are differences in personality between any two dogs but it has little to do with what colour they are. There are a lot of misconceptions about certain colours of Cockers having certain behavioural traits but poor breeding has much more of an influence on character/temperament than coat colour and at certain times certain colours are more popular so more of them are churned out by bad breeders/puppy farmers with little thought to temperament and therefore associations develop with the coat colour when really it's down to bad breeding and how a pup is raised.

Not that I've noticed - I have one of each, two from 8 weeks old and all have very sweet temperaments.  I know that Roly & Misha's breeder puts a lot of effort into breeding dogs that have good health and temperaments.  I don't know Lexi's background but a lot of her issues are purely from a lack of training and as each day goes by these are becoming less and less, so I would say no.

A dogs parents are a good indication of personality (which is why they say you should always see the parents of pups).  Misha's mum was a solid gold and beautifully natured, and had no problem at all with me meeting the pups at 3 weeks.  Roly's mum was solid liver and I have to admit she was a little timid when meeting initially, but very soft natured once she got to know you.  Their dad was a choc roan and he was a really lovely chap - and I see a lot of him in Roly.

So no difference really, just thoughtful breeding.

My first 2 Cockers were solids and my current 2 are partis and they've all had very charming, but very different personalities.

One of my solids was a cheeky, excitable and stubborn boy and the other was very gentle and eager to please.

One of my partis, William, is very laid back and confident. He's quiet and extremely affectionate at home and full of energy when we're out and about. The other one, puppy Louis, is on the go all the time (I'm sure partly because of his age) and very strong willed. At the moment he's the least cuddly Cocker I've owned, but maybe that will change as he matures.

I think colour has nothing to do with their personalities. My 2 solid boys were half brothers, nothing like each other, but both like their dads in personality. William is very much like his dad in both looks and personality and one of his litter brothers, who I see occasionally, is more like their mum in his personality.

I have heard that black and tans can be more difficult.
My son has a black and tan she is better than my 2 solids and 2 parti colours  :luv: She is fantastic and very clever  not sure mine have many brain cells at times  :luv: :005:

My solids are alot more demanding than my parti but alot of it comes down to the breeding and the way the dogs is treated from a young age.

Yep mine is very clever too - I don't quite get the other posts that say cockers are a bit dim because mine sure isn't  :005:
