One Weeping Puppy Eye
« on: March 26, 2010, 02:25:29 PM »
Rupert is  4 months and has had 1 weeping eye for a few days.

It doesnt seem to bother him at all and its clear liquid, almost like hes crying, no gunk/discharge etc.

The eyelid on the lower lid inside of both eyes is red but not sure if its always been like this ?

I think he might have started teething as one tooth is missing and there have been some blood stains on his toys. Not sure if this is linked?

I've heard that cold tea can help but how do you apply this?

Thank you!

My Poppy has always had a weeping eye, just clear fluid.  The vet is not concerned about it and it doesn't bother her in the least.  I think some dogs just have this.  If you wanted to use cold tea you can soak a cotton pad in the tea and just bathe the eye.

thanks for reply, does the tea need to go into the eye like eye drops would or just hold the pad over the eye (very tricky as he keeps trying to eat it)  >:(

its still weepy and now has been like that for over a week so perhaps a vet trip would be worth it...
