  • To understand a cocker, you need to be a cocker!

Mine are both Mummies girls!  My OH works away alot, so they settle easily if he's not at home.  OH reports that if I'm out late, they pace, whine, stare at the door....  :luv:

Got three cocker shadows.......

I love it most of the time, but sometimes I feel so sorry for them.  They will be huddled up asleep, and the minute I move, they jump up and follow.

Only wish they were like shadows for 'recall'........ that's when I wish they would follow.... :005: :005:  Getting better though.

Maybe thats it...........................when out for a walk, when we want them back, we should start walking away, saying "don't move, I'm just going for a wee"  :005: Guaranteed to get them following, though probably best not to pull your trousers down at this point!!!!! :005: ;)

Off for a walk after lunch, so gonna put your idea to the test.  Let you know if it works.

Marlo is definitely a mummy's boy, he's constantly shadowing me, even when snoring and seems fast asleep as soon as I try to move, he's up........ He will quite happily watch the others come and go, indoors and out but not me.........he knows when I'm getting ready for work, he guards the front door and watches me like a hawk.......yet like others when out on his walks it's a very different story  ph34r

my lola is definatly a mummys girl, my oh gets home before me after work and although lots of cars drive past our house she always knows when her mummys car arrives home. She suddenly sits up and jumps on the sofa arm by the window whimpering and wagging her tail.

Dodger on the other hand is everyones dog! as long as your showing him attention or giving out hugs he will be there!

Meg might be a grumpy old mare but she does love us all, her little face lights up when we come in and her tail wags like mad most of the time. Shes just not got that 'unconditional love' for Alfie yet :011:. I love her so much though. Alfie just has unconditional love for everybody and everything. He is especially soft for me and my mum though and will have a snuggle anytime, anywhere. He is just always there when you look round :luv: whereas Meg isnt really a follower and would much rather just stay put :005:. Alfie has been an angel pup  so i think that has allowed us to really appreciate his love for us all and ours for him. They just have so much love to give dont they :luv: :luv: :luv:. Ooooooh what would we do without them :D xxx

Dylan's a mummies boy. I think its mainly because for about 6wks (ended a week ago) it was just me and him at home (plus rabbits) as my other half was away training for his new jon..

When my OH's parents pick him up for the day and drop me off at my work, it really is heart breaking as he just looks out the back window watching me go with those gorgeous puppy eyes he has. Also, if my OH walks him to work with me, when it comes for me to go - he constantly pulls in my direction, walking kinda backwards too, until i've disappeared. He'll also sit on the top step of the stairs (infront of stairgate) if i'm upstairs, even if my OH is dowstairs, sometimes even calling him. Also, if my OH lets him out his crate, he'll run straight to me ignoring my OH.

Well i think Macy is more for my OH because he took her to work with him when she was a puppy until she was about 2 years old, but once my OH is home she follows me around the house but when he's at work she waits by the back door for him, once he's home she's fine then, it's as if she's got to have us both home for her to be settled  :luv:
Tia's for both of us as when we had her as a pup we where both at home alot, i think it's definatly to do with who they're with from a young age, they're a strange lot arnt they?  :005:

Hamish is a mummy's boy. He will follow me round the house and will even come to the loo with me and if I close the door he pushes it open with his nose!  :005:

He wags wheh OH is around too but has to be sitting on the sofa with me and sleeps on my feet.

I love it "stalker/velcro dog" fits Tucker.   :luv:  His tail is also docked and he's got a serious case of cocker wiggle butt when ever he's around me.  There are times when I swear he bends right in half he gets so excited.  I can not leave a room without my cocker shadow being right there and he is less stalkerish and more velcro about it.....must always be touching!  I have tripped over that dog more times than I can count and he just bounds right up again and reattaches.   :D
