coughing
« on: April 19, 2010, 08:12:10 AM »

Carlo, 6 months, has been coughing for three or four weeks. I took him to the vet who diagnosed a mild upeer respiratory tract infection and gave him a course of antibiotics which finished a week ago. But the puupy is still coughing, particularly first thing in the morning when he sounds like an old tramp. He doesn't seem unwell and is his normal cheerful little self. The vet says if it doesn't clear up he will xray Carlo's chest and give him a blood test but I'm not sure what he would be looking for.
Does anyone have any advice or experience to share? I'm worried for the puppy now and the daycare lady who has him a couple of times a week won't let him come while he is coughing which is fair enough but sad for Carlo who loves playing with the other pups.
