To young to go to the fair?
« on: May 09, 2010, 11:20:15 AM »
It's Burghley game fair May B/hol. I really want to go and take Charley and Darcy but Charley will have only just turned 4 months old. Although we wouldn't stay for long do you think this is to much for her or good socialising?

We are going with our boys including our Charlie who will be just over 5 months old.
Infact we were there last bank holiday and he loved it abd we could have re-homed several times lol
would be good to meet up with you & anyone else who is going. We go every year & love it

I think it would be a good opportunity to experience a new environment

Exactly. I also think good socialization. Be careful he doesn't get overwhelmed by everything as there can be a lot going on and can get crowded in places at these sort of things, but otherwise I don't see a problem. I have always taken my youngsters along to things like this as I feel it's good experience for them. Have fun.  ;)

Just be prepared for everything to take three times as long as it should - to allow for the "crowd stoppage" factor of Cocker Puppies!

We had our two at a Point-to-Point on Saturday and every time we walked around we ended up with a crowd petting the pups!

I'd take her, you can carry her around for periods so she's not walking all the time. Caoimhe went to her first game fair a few weeks after I got her last year, she was about 6 months old then and it was a good experience for her, she was interested in everything going on.

I think we'll toddle along with Jeff and Annie - Jeff's 6 months.

We are still planning to attend this and will be going on Sunday - so can recover on Monday before back to work on Tuesday?
Is anyone else going? If so, which day?
Will have my Cocker radar on and you may get accosted by a deranged woman with a blue roan and chocolate roan spaniels ;) :D

We might try and make it on Sunday, I worked at Burghley House as a nanny a few years back and had a fantastic time  :D

We took Mole along to a game fair when he was quite young and he did really well, I wouldn't worry too much.
