Harry is home!!!
« on: June 09, 2010, 05:19:01 PM »
Harry came home yesterday and he is adorable!!!!   :luv:

He did really well on his car journey home, nearly 2 hours.  He is eating well and seems a really happy boy.  He loves following my 10 year old twins around  :005:

He went in his crate last night at 11, went for a wee at 3 and settled again til 5 so I was pretty pleased.  I leave his crate open all day and he goes in to sleep during the day and sometimes to play - I got some toys out to play and he put them back in his bed when we finished.....if only the kids would clear up after themselves too!!!!.  He seems to like the security of being in there.

I will try and post a photo later  :D

Hi Em,

Sounds like you've made his new home lovely and welcoming :D  How is the toilet training going? Daisy has gone to the door twice now and each time has gone out and gone to the loo so fingers crossed the penny is starting to drop. We still have the play biting issue though - hope Harry is a bit better behaved ;)

Cant wait to see the pics

Hi Michelle

How is Daisy?  Harry is doing really well at night and at toilet training.  He play bites too and is getting more confident with it every day!!!  We are saying "harry No" and turning away from him, after a bit we substitute our hands and clothes with one of his toys which he can chew!!  I am sure they will get there, |I think we just need to be consistent. We also try a little growl which seems to be effective.  Harry is alot calmer with me and dh but I think that is natural as children are naturally more excitable .

Harry has settled in so quickly I am really pleased.  There is still lots for him to learn but it will be fun.  He is wearing a collar for part of each day which he isn't bothered by so I guess the lead in the garden next, boy I think that one will be fun!!!

Hoping things are going well for you, pm me if you like and we can chat through are bad days and relish the good!!

Hi Em,

Sorry for delay in getting back to you - hubby works away through the week and with 2 children to run around after and Daisy my weeks are just whizzing by!! Our 11 month old little boy is teething too so nightmare here at moment!

Other than that though Daisy is doing brilliantly well - sleeps right through at night now and dont need to get up to her - usually goes from 10pm til 6am and is clean and dry. Still working on the housetraining though but it is getting better. I think it helps that the weather is so gorgeous and we are out in the garden a lot. Having said that, we were outside in the garden for 20 minutes yesterday and as soon as we came back in she weed just inside the doorway ::)

How is the biting? We are still on the receiving end of her little razor sharp teeth!! I keep her and Charlie separate most of the time now but with some advice from a fab dog trainer we saw it is getting a bit better.

Funnily enough I've just had to break off from typing as she went to the back door and whined to be let out :D

Cant wait to hear how you are getting on!! And to see some pics :luv:

Sorry I've just realised I should have pm'd you!
love michelle x
