Hi Lindseyp, many thanks for all the info - I have had a look at the Nurturing by Nature website and their Facebook page. I might consider BARF if Clover's eyes show no improvement after giving the treatment a fair go - it does sound more natural for a dog than dried kibble I must say, and I can understand the benefits.

I actually live quite near to Dorwest Herbs and have an account with them although I can't say I have found the products I have tried on my cats so far to be very successful, but maybe dogs react better to them than cats do! Funny things cats, but I love 'em!  :luv:

It's really great news that you have seen such an improvement in Purdey, (and in your pocket, lol!), must be a huge relief. Anyway, you have given me 'food' for thought (pardon the pun  :005: :005: :005:). Will see how Clover goes and keep you posted! Off out with Clover now, for a walk to my sister's for a much needed cup of coffee!  It's great to get Clover out on a lead, instead of having to carry her!!!

Morning!

Just thought I would let all who are interested to know, the latest on Clover's dry eye problem. After a week of using 3 different types of drops 13 times a day, plus an antibiotic tablet morning and night, I took her back for another Schirmer eye test today, and the vet was pleased to tell me that her score has gone up to 15, so we can now just finish off the tablets (2 more days worth) and cut back on the eye drops - still three different types, but only 8 times a day now! So she so far seems to be heading in the right direction..... Another check up in 2 weeks time. I was SO glad to hear that news, I can tell you. :clapping: She was amazingly good having the test done - sitting very still for one whole minute, twice in succession, is quite a task for a 12 week old pup! A few tasty treats may have helped persuade her though!  And she met some lovely dogs in the waiting room to rub noses with, too - unlike the horrid great beast >:D that frightened the life out of her on our walk the other day!

Wonderful news now that Clover is doing better.

What a clever girl you are behaving yourself impeccably at the vets.

Keep getting better day by day  :luv: :luv: :luv:

Oh Sue, I'm really pleased that you have had some success with Clover and her eyes.

Both you and Clover deserve a Gold star for all the hard work you have put into helping clear up Clover's eye problems.

I hope that her eyes will get even better as the weeks go by.

Big hugs and kisses to Clover.  Love Lizzie and Betsy.

PS:  I'm taking Betsy to see Daniel (the Vet) tomorrow at 11:25 as she seems to have a blood shot eye most of the time and my mummy is worrying so much that there might be something wrong with her, so I'm being over cautious and taking her to see Daniel.
Lots of love ... Lizzie

Really pleased the meds have helped ease Clover's dry eye - hopefully it was just a temprorary failure of tear production & in time will be back to normal.   Even if it doesn't & she needs further treatment, it sounds like you've got the eye care procedure down to a fine art, with little Clover not bothered much at all  :luv:
Paws crossed for more good news in a few weeks time  :bigarmhug:

Thank you to everyone for your support and kind messages ( you too, Seaangler!)  - it means a lot knowing you are all there for Clover and I.  I'm really glad I found this Forum and all my new cocker friends!  ;) :005:

@Lizzie, yes, do get Betsy's eyes checked out, they are too precious to ignore if you think there is something not right. Might be also worth mentioning Clover's dry eye problem while you are there. Daniel may be interested to know that Betsy's sister has eye probs.

Not sure if you caught up with it or not sue - but there was a thread of Seaanglers (Chris) running & it concerned you (although we had to guess  :005: ) you've got a Blue Peter Badge ........lucky you!  :lol2:  waiting to be awarded & seeing as I came a lowly second I'm trying to score points to raise myself in the rankings  :rofl1: :rofl1: .......a touch of infantile humour on my part but funny never the less  :005:

Oh!!!  :005: I hadn't realised all that was going on! I haven't had chance to read it all properly yet because of Clover being very demanding tonight but I will do as soon as I get a moment when she is asleep! You know what small puppies are like....!  ;) From the quick glimpse I did manage it looks like a good old bit of fun.... I'm surprised my ears haven't been burning! Can't wait to get stuck in for a good read and giggle! :011:
