Fun nose work course??
« on: January 01, 2012, 07:04:52 PM »
i would like to perhaps do some scent work with KP in the new year, may as well put that talent to good use. Anyone got any suggestions of novice / starter class? Don't mind residential, or one day or if there is anything local (Bath, Bristol, Swindon) on a weekly basis.

Don't know of any courses but there's a book called 'nosework for fun'

I don't know what's planned for next year but I really enjoy the talking dog scent workshop. Here's a link to the website

http://talkingdogsscentwork.co.uk/Talking_Dogs_Scentwork/Welcome.html

The full day workshops are mostly ran from peterbrough but pam does travel to other parts of the country throughout the year. She's not got any on her website yet so might be worth dropping her an email to see what she's got planned.

Leisl, please let me know if you have any luck with this.  I'd looked for something similar for Ollie last year but didn't find anything around our neck of the woods.  I wonder if there was enough interest if someone might do a workshop down south?

My daughter (she has the litter sister to my working cocker Dazzle) runs training classes (all positive) not far from Bath, she's looking at doing some fun scentwork in the future, either as workshops or weekly classes, we might well approach Talking Dogs to see if Pam would come and put a workshop on........if there's enough interest......

Poppy and I live near Peterborough so we train regularly with Pam at her Rally and Scentwork classes.
We enjoy both but the scentwork is definitely Poppy’s favourite :luv:
We are now working with two different scents to (try to ;)) train both an active and passive indication.

I think Pam would be delighted to put on a workshop in your area :D

Shelley's emailed Pam so we'll see what we can arrange.....hoping there will be lots of interest, we can't go all the way to Cambridge so the only way we can get certified is to bring Pam here!
