Remember when Lyla was operated on, the surgeon said it is very common for them to slip from a grade 3 to a grade 4 and then back up the scale again.  Try not to get too disheartened xxxx

It's such early days too,I'm guessing
there will be some inflammation still
at the affected site which should
resolve in time and help with her
recovery.

Please dont be too disheartened, after such a big operation it takes time for the nerves to reconnect.  I know patience is easy said but time will tell.
Hugs to you and Jemima she will get there.

Just wondering if you get to
speak to the physio too?
Might be worth having a chat
with them!

They will show
Jen what to do before she takes Jem home.  The physio is very simple

Bit gutted today. Just rang and spoke to one of the nurses. They are a bit concerned because she isn't doing much with her back legs yet. She's doing a tiny bit but not a great deal. The physio is there today so they are going to ask her if they can give the nurses some more ideas on exercises they can do over the weekend. She is happy and merry in herself still though. Ive asked if I can go and see her and they have said that I can go either tonight or tomorrow. They will show me how to help her to toilet when I go. The nurse seems to think that it's taking a bit longer as she was completely off her back legs when she got to them. They are keeping her all weekend and looking at Monday now. Gutted  :'(

Dennis was a grade 4 before his surgery the first time this happened to him. He got worse after the surgery like sheryl said it's quite normal. Dennis recovery was a long one and it took many weeks for him to walk again.
I know this is easier said than done but try to stay positive , they all heal at different rates. The fact that she is happy in herself is a good sign.  :bigarmhug: from me and Dennis

Going to see her at 5 tonight. Been asked to take an array of food with me so chicken and crab sticks going in the bag as I type. Excited but worried also because I know I'll make a fool of myself by bursting into tears! Phil's just been reading some of the posts for the first time. I think he's surprised at how many folks are wishing her well! He's admitted to missing her like hell as well! :luv:

I know you're desperate to get her home, but better she's there to make sure she's in the right direction rather than worrying at home and perhaps having to move her back and forth

I think it all depends on why she is so flat.  If it is because she is wanting you and it is affecting her so much, then I think she should be with you.  Lyla should have stayed another two days but the Clinic said her pining and refusing to eat was compromising her recovery.  I have kept the list of drugs the vet used to kick start her appetite just in case you want them xxx
