So good to hear Dennis is on the mend and that the vet is pleased with him, lets hope he continues to make progress and doesn't give you any more scares.

 what a huge relief for us you. It's been such a worry over the past couple of days, and it's great to hear Dennis will be a menace again in the not too distant future  :005:

Been out of it a bit over the weekend and just seen that Dennis is improving a bit. It is a slow process Maria but I'm sure you and Dennis will get there. If this helps any, when Jemima's swelling went down around the wound she looked a bit like a camel as the wound site was still really raised. She is three weeks post op tomorrow and she is at the flaky stage with the wound. The swelling is very, very gradually going down but still a bit raised and the scar is quite flaky. She going to see Andrew tomorrow so I'll see if he gives us anything useful that you could do with Dennis as well. On another note, I'm sure that our "settee" time with Jem is what has helped her. We have been doing manipulation of her legs while she's sat with us. There does need to be two of you there though incase one of you needs the loo or needs to make a drink, etc! We don't leave her to her own devices as she thinks that she doesn't have a problem and tries to skoot around the living room. Little madam! I do hope you both have a better day today. Me and Jem are wishing you lots of best wishes.  Keep fighting :luv:

When Dennis had the 1st disc go in 2010 , he was paralysed for months after his surgery , I used to get hubby to carry him upstairs and he used to lay on the bed and we used to do his massages and stretches and he really seemed to like it. This time Dennis was back using his legs only a day after surgery , and I've not been able to do alot of the massage because he will not stay still  ph34r

I'm begining to wonder if Dennis problems over the weekend where to do with the cold, I'd moved his crate into the dinning room and it is cooler in there , and Saturday was very cold. He has always been stiff and a little uncomfortable when it cold. So he back in the front room and as mad as ever today.

Maria the cold does affect them I have be very carefull when taking Charlie out when it has been snowing or is very frosty as he gets really bad muscle spasms in his back legs which I have to apply and warm compress to and masage his legs until the spasms stop.  So far this winter the weather has been kind to us but if it starts we plan to get the vet to do some acu puncture as she thinks this will help rather than medication.
