Brandy used to scream like almighty when someone knocked on the door, he would try lunging out, then when i stopped him doing that he started bouncing up and down so he could see out the window - must of been hilarious seeing a big floppy dog going up and down lol

I gave up in the end and with the help of my neighbour we started putting a leash on him and getting her to knock on the door. I would make brandy sit at the door and until he was quiet i would not open it.

The second he was quiet i opened the door and made him sit nicely - once he was calm he was allowed to sniff my neighbour.

He's perfect at the door now, sits ever so quiet and patiently - took a good week or two but we kept practising and even the local police and postman were happy to help

Brilliant!!!  I'll try that.  Tobes just goes ballistic if he hears someone at the door.  It wouldn't be so bad if it was a bark but it's a blood curdling, full on scream

Charlie if he's feeling brave will "bark" at the door (when I say bark - I mean a bark that sounds like a loud sigh - thats all he can do  ). Otherwise he'd just get excited
