She can no longer have chews/bones/rawhide chews etc as they all have fat in them and she has got to remain on a almost No Fat diet for the rest of her life.

I got exactly the same advice from my Vet when Fred had his most severe bout but we are now back on a regular food and I monitor his treats, he doesnt get rawhide as it gives him the runs and they both dont get bones as they both get very competitive over them but I have phased back in the occasional gravy bone and biscuits but have found through trial and error which treats do not agree with him so we also have to avoid chicken and turkey. He loves his fruit and yoghurt though!!

Touch wood- Fred has been off his meds and on a regular diet for nearly 2 years now, has put back on all the weight he lost and is in really good condition.

Sorry I don't have any advice to offer to you....................just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about Daisy's diagnosis.

Hope you get her medication and diet sorted soon so that she can begin to feel a bit better.

Sending hugs for you, and for your girl too. xxxxxx

I give Fred tinned fish once a week, I drian the majority of the oil off and then mash it through his regular food, he also gets the occasional piece of white fish when it is on offer in the supermarket and loves it- so far we have had no side effects or relapses due to fish!

Hi our Charlie had a severe bout of pancreatitis about 7 years ago and was hospitalised on a drip for 3 days.  He then was fed Hills I/D for about a year very expensive and not that good a food.  I contacted Burns and some of their foods are lower in fat than the Hills so he has been fed on Burns for about 5 years no probs.  I am paranoid about checking everything he eats to make sure of the low fat content.  However recently he hasnt been keeping to well and has just had a blood test Monday to check for pancreatitis hope it isnt as he has always stayed on a low fat diet.
