weeing in the house
« on: May 25, 2012, 09:23:50 PM »
Can anyone help!? Ebony wee'd in the house 3 times yesterday and has just done it again. She's been toilet trained for a year now and hasn't had any accidents.
Each time was somewhere different, the first time she was sat on the couch with me and just wee'd where she was sat, all the doors were open so she could have gone outside. The second time was in the kitchen after her tea, next to the open back door! Then she did it again on her cushion that was outside, again she was just sat there and started weeing.
She's just had some food now and has wee'd again on a pair of pants that were on the kitchen floor.

Could this have anything to do with her being spayed? An after effect so to speak xx

On no, no advice but just wanted to ask if you have had another dog in the house, Willow never wees inside now and hasnt done since she was small with the exception of when my friend visits with her dog, last time she weed about 3 times, think she was scent marking although she appeared fine with him here!! Will keep an eye on this thread as we are obviously just post spay with Willow. Maybe she has got a little infection!! :-\  :-\

Hi Maddy, yes we have another dog in the house but she's always been there. My other half said its me as she hasn't done it when I wasn't there.
My MIL did mention that she might have a chill on her stomach or maybe a water infection. I'm going to ring the vet when it opens.
Will keep u updated

I would also be wondering about a urinary tract infection from the sounds of things. Weeing where she sits is definitely not normal and I'd be a bit worried that something else was going on. Maybe a visit to the vet is a good plan :)

Hi guys I managed to get Ebony into the vets this morning and he's said its a urine infection or at least he thinks it is (he didn't have much of a sample to go off  :005: ), as the ph levels weren't what they should be. He's given her a course of antibiotics and told me to take in another urine sample in 5 days as he wanted to check for kidney stones etc. He said the antibiotics should kick in in a couple of days.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the well wishes, she's much better now, had no more weeing in the house.
She also seems really excited to have her tablets (I think it's the meat that goes with it) I don't even have to hid it, it just gets popped on top and she eats it all  :D
