Can you help?

My cocker spaniel Suki is pregnant with one pup,however nothing is happening!! Now she is past her due date do you know if there are any natural remedies I could give her? I really don't want to put her through a caeserian birth.Help!!

You need to talk with your vet, I wouldn't take any risks with a pregnant dog

Sorry I have no idea or experience, but as suggested best bet would be to speak to your vet or your girls breeder. Hoping everything goes smoothly for her.

What day is she at? Has she been x-rayed so you know for sure there's only one puppy? You really should speak to your vet; it's not that uncommon for dogs to go a bit over their 'due date' as date of conception is not necessarily date of mating but sometimes with singleton puppies there isn't enough hormone produced to start labour and in that case you will need veterinary intervention.

I had a Hearing Dogs bitch whelp on Tuesday night at day 65 from date of first mating so she obviously conceived after this, I had a feeling it was a bit early and she'd be more likely to catch from her second mating 2 days later, she had more than one pup though and was showing signs of pre-labour so I was happy she was ok.

My Jasmine had a singleton nearly 5 years ago, vet allowed her to get to day 65 from 1st mating, then she was booked in for a c-section.  One beautiful orange roan girl pup born weighing 1lb 4oz.

I wouldn't wait, get her to the vet and see what they say, better to be safe than sorry.

You need to speak to your vet and be guided by them.

Have you been taking her temperature for the last few days? If done regularly along with watching for other signs of labour then it can be a very useful tool for pinpointing the onset of labour.

We had a girl deliver one healthy puppy naturally without any veterinary intervention 5 days after her due date. That said she was closely monitored by my vet beforehand and scanned every couple of days from day 60. Looking back I don't think she was actually overdue I think my girl conceived late but you really need to speak to your vet.
