chunky cocker puppy
« on: July 12, 2012, 10:34:59 PM »
I have recently seen an advert for a puppy described as 'a super chunky cocker spaniel puppy' - does this mean anything particular?

Riley was a chunky puppy, it just means they are not skinny  :005: means well covered.

My Flo was a chunky pup, two of my kids were chunky bubs :005: doesn't mean they grow into chunky adults.

One of my litters were all very chunky pups, looked about 8 weeks old at 4 weeks, but they all slimmed out and are normal size now.

I love chunky pups  :luv:

I described Bliss' pups as chunky as they were all very square with a leg at each corner if you follow me - at 5 months old Skye & Connie that we kept are both like racing whippets ......... :shades:  Important for them to have as good a start in life as poss and the food we had them on certainly did that. The picture below hopefully shows them at their chunky-best at 8 weeks old!!

To me, chunky means well-boned with lots of substance, not fat ;)

Chunky to me  means heavier boned, there shape would not alter with age . Nothing to do with weight.

Jennie was a chunky puppy, and she's always looked 'fatter' than Millie who is slightly taller and longer than Jennie. She isnt fat though, she's just a different shape.
