Grey hairs
« on: September 10, 2012, 05:13:48 PM »
When peps first came, she had a lovely white strip on her forehead, now is has gone but over the last week I've noticed like this mad hedgehog white hair popping up on top of her nose that look like grey hairs  :005:
Now these I'm not so found off!

Looks like an electrocuted Christmas tree! Will that area go white eventually? Hmmmm

Maisie has similar markings and she has some, maybe to a lesser degree than in your photo. I strip Maisie's out sometimes, well they fall out mostly but any stray ones seem to be just like the other dead 'fluff' that you strip out, so I do. She doesn't mind so I have a feeling they are on their way out by the time I ever get to them. I never have to tug, they just come out easily between my fingers.

Edited to add, lovely pics, she is beautiful  :luv:  :luv:

My Jasmine, orange roan, had a real fuzzy face, the white hairs used to grow quicker than the orange, so I used to just hand strip them out, they pluck out quite easily.

Henry's just started growing some random white hairs on his nose too - in about the same place as Peps. I used to pluck the odd one out, but now there's loads and my hubby won't let me (says it's cruel - we used to have a black cat and my sister and I would pluck any stray white hairs, until he got too old and there were too many!). There's too many white hairs on Henry's nose now anyway. They look a bit like Peps' ones. I was actually going to start a thread about changing colour as puppies grow up - mine has changed a LOT and is still changing. I thought his whole nose would be black at one point but now it's far more silvery and now there's these new random white ones! He's also about 10 shades darker than when we first saw him (just as well I wanted a dark roan!).
Here he is at 10 weeks and 18 weeks - quite a difference:

Electrocuted hedgehog - love it! Forgot to mention how cute Peps is, in spite of the hairs you don't like!!
