Although not a cocker spaniel, but an American cocker, my heart went out to this one

He really deserves a second chance after a really hard life.

Further to my earlier posts Kellie had the 2nd dental treatment which was not without incident as she had a heavy bleeding at one of the extraction sites just after they had brought her round and they had to re-anaesthetise her to sort; so I had a few follow up vet appts. I then noticed a large lump on her chest so back we went in a panic. They drained pus from it and with tablets has reduced but yesterday I was told she has a tumour on her mammary gland. Obviously I'm in bits and all thoughts of a 2nd cocker out the window. I have yet to find out what treatment is available. Not proving a good year. xx

On 20/05 I posted that I would let you know when I acquired a 2nd cocker and finally I am able to shout it from the roof tops!! He is a beautiful 6 yr old orange roan (a completely new colour cocker for me having had 11 solid golden, black, and a couple of black/tans). He has settled in a treat and very important, good with Kellie. She is doing ok; one of the vets syringed the mysterious lump and got such a lot of pus from it (abscess?) and since then no mention of tumour. I watch her like a hawk (will be 11 in 02/26); I'll so grateful to have her and now Bodie and them to have me! It's been a very traumatic year, losing Matte so suddenly, losing several dear friends, family members developing rotten cancers; will be glad to see the back of it. But for now, I'm enjoying the pleasure of having 2 cockers again, giving thanks  and prayers for my family and friends, and not forgetting you folk who were there encouraging me in my quest. Thank you all. xx

Oh what fantastic news....I had hoped you would post with good news.

Just to add my neice decided to get my mother in law age 83 a dog, as she had wanted for so long and feared being turned away etc.....well in June my neice presented her with a four year old cocker poo and she is a darling, it has really turned her life around with this little dog they are both inseperable and the little dog adores her.

It really is wonderful to read your news on Bodie

Glad to hear Kellie is doing ok and has Bodie along now to join the family.
Cocker kisses and cuddles just make my day!
