Copying an old post onto a new one
« on: October 28, 2008, 10:21:57 PM »
Hi

Could someone please tell me .... If i am replying to a post and wish to refer to another post that was written a while ago, How do I get the old post onto my reply ? I don't seem to be able to do the normal copy and past thing. I hope this makes sense.

I feel I'm going to look really silly when someone tells me  :005:

Thanks Jo

If it's in the same thread Jo you can just click the quote button, even if it's a few pages back. :D

Does that help?

On this occasion its was in a different section of the forum. I was in the puppy section and was looking for an old thread in behaviour but I couldn't work out how to link it across  ;)

Okay, I think the easiest way is to open two tabs or windows, one for each of the threads. Click quote on what you want to transfer across and when that opens right click and 'select all' then right click again and click 'copy'.
Then open the tab/window where you want to insert the comment, right click and 'paste'

Hopefully that helps now.

Clear as mud  :005:  I usually open another tab and then cut and paste the address from the address bar.  ;)  That seems to work for me  :-\
