Question about Cocker Rescue

This is interesting, when my family got Tilly (we were living in West Sussex) but we were told about her by the rep for Dorset. We drove to Poole to get Tilly.

How long ago was that, tillydog?

If my memory serves me right .. about late September/early October 1992. We had a homecheck done, passed but then had to move out of that house. We got Tilly just after we moved house, she was about 18 mnths old when we got her.

There is no longer a Rescue Rep for Dorset as the lady who did this has now retired after many years service.

a friend of mine a few years ago applied for a cocker from cocker rescue, she lives in kent  there was none available round here so she had to go up to beds for her girl. that was before i got involved with rescue, last year when they were looking for another dog to go with the one from beds i found them barney a lovely black chap. he was only just  a year so do hang in there and be patient some times it can take a while when you want a specific breed , or sex or age. but i always say to people you get the dog you are meant to have and one day soon your pooch will come along and you will be in a position to get that dog.

My friend is about to take in a liver roan show boy who she is hoping cocker rescue will take on. If she doesn't take him he is to be offered free to a good home in the local shop. She is picking him up tomorrow and asked me if I could find out the number and name of the rep. She may end up keeping him but she has working cockers and they are girls. He is entire and she really prefers workers. At least I can now tell her that their is a rep fairly close by in Beds.

There are a number of rescues that would be likely to take him if she can't.

she picked him up this afternoon. She says he is very whiney but very sweet. She isn't sure if he has SA or not. One of her girls is not due for a season within the next 3 or 4 months and her youngest is spayed so she will keep him with her for now and he is already booked into the vet for castration next tuesday. Even if she gives him to a recue she said they have enough on their plates without the expence of castrating him. I am going to hers in the morning and may get a photograph of him.
